Duplicate Post RB

Duplicate Post RB helps you duplicate posts, duplicate pages, and clone custom post types in WordPress with full control over what gets copied. This guide will help you install the plugin, configure your first profile, and start duplicating content in just a few clicks.

1. Installation

  1. Go to your WordPress admin dashboard
  2. Open Plugins → Add New
  3. Search for Duplicate Post RB
  4. Click Install Now → Activate

Once activated, the plugin is ready to use immediately with default settings.

2. Basic Duplication (Quick Start)

After activation, you will see new duplication actions inside:

  • Posts list
  • Pages list
  • Custom post types (if supported by your theme/plugins)

To duplicate a post or page:

  1. Open Posts → All Posts or Pages → All Pages
  2. Hover over any item
  3. Click Duplicate
  4. A copy will be created instantly as a new draft

By default, the plugin copies:

  • Title
  • Content
  • Featured image
  • Basic metadata

3. Understanding Duplication Profiles

Profiles allow you to control exactly what gets copied during duplication.

Instead of changing settings each time, you can:

  • Create multiple profiles
  • Save different duplication rules
  • Apply different profiles for different use cases

Example profiles:

  • SEO Copy – changes title and slug with prefix
  • Full Clone – copies everything including custom fields
  • Minimal Copy – content + selected taxonomies only

4. Creating Your First Profile

  1. Go to Settings → Duplicate Post RB
  2. Open the Profiles section
  3. Click Add New Profile
  4. Configure what you want to copy:
    • Title
    • Content
    • Slug
    • Featured image
    • Taxonomies
    • Templates
    • Metadata / custom fields
  5. Save the profile

✅ Profiles are saved automatically after each change — no manual save button required.

5. Using Profiles During Duplication

When you click Duplicate, a popup appears where you can:

  • Select a profile
  • Choose how many copies to create
  • Apply duplication instantly

Each duplication can use a different profile depending on your needs.

6. Smart Naming Rules

Duplicate Post RB supports automatic naming with placeholders:

  • [Counter] – auto-increment number
  • [CurrentDate] – today’s date
  • [CurrentTime] – current time

This helps you generate clean, structured duplicates automatically.

7. WP-CLI Support (For Developers & Automation)

Duplicate Post RB includes full WP-CLI support.

Duplicate specific posts:

wp rb-duplicate-post duplicate 1,2,6,7,8,9
