Form display modes

Forms RB provides a consistent and user-friendly way to display forms on your website. Instead of embedding forms directly into page content, forms are shown using a dialog-based interaction triggered by a floating button.

This article explains the available display mode and how it behaves for visitors.

Dialog-based display

Forms RB uses a dialog (modal) display mode to show forms.

In this mode:

  • The form opens in a modal dialog window
  • The current page remains visible in the background
  • Users can interact with the form without leaving the page

This approach keeps page layouts clean and avoids disrupting existing content structure.

Floating button trigger

Forms are accessed using a floating action button displayed on the page.

Key characteristics:

  • The button stays visible while scrolling
  • Clicking the button opens the form dialog
  • The button can be enabled or disabled per form

This makes the form easily accessible without embedding it into specific sections of the page.

Dialog content structure

When the dialog opens, it includes:

  • A dialog title
  • An optional description
  • Enabled form fields
  • Submit and Close buttons

All text elements inside the dialog can be customized using the form’s Dialog settings.

User interaction flow

Typical visitor interaction:

  1. Visitor clicks the floating button
  2. The form dialog opens
  3. User fills in the form fields
  4. User submits the form or closes the dialog

The dialog can be closed at any time without losing the page context.

Responsive behavior

The dialog display mode is fully responsive:

  • Adjusts to desktop, tablet, and mobile screens
  • Ensures readable fields and buttons on smaller devices
  • Maintains usability across different screen sizes

No additional configuration is required for responsive behavior.

Why dialog mode is used

The dialog-based display mode offers several advantages:

  • No need to modify page content or layouts
  • Forms remain consistent across the site
  • Reduced visual clutter
  • Improved user focus during form interaction

This makes Forms RB suitable for contact forms, feedback forms, and general inquiries.

Future display options

Additional display modes may be introduced in future versions of Forms RB, providing more flexibility in how forms are presented on the frontend.

Updates and new features will be documented as they become available.
